jrod Posted July 16, 2008 Report Posted July 16, 2008 I just put some new carbs on my bike, and turn the fuel on and they start leaking out the bottom hole on the bowl. Is there a way to fix it? Quote
okbeast Posted July 16, 2008 Report Posted July 16, 2008 Floats are set too high causing too much fuel to be let in or there is something blocking the float from seating correctly. Did you clean them before installing? Quote
Wildcardracing Posted July 16, 2008 Report Posted July 16, 2008 Or the drain screws aren't properly seated. Quote
jrod Posted July 16, 2008 Author Report Posted July 16, 2008 Or the drain screws aren't properly seated. thanks for the info. I got these off of bansheedan. I will check that stuff when i get home. Quote
Animalman294 Posted July 18, 2008 Report Posted July 18, 2008 Ya, I'd open them up and check them. If they sat for a while they could have some old fuel in them and they are sticking the floats or causing debris to stick to the float valve seat............. Quote
250Rho Posted July 18, 2008 Report Posted July 18, 2008 i had the carbs on my road bike leaking there for a while, i cleaned the drain skrews and it still did it because my bowls were too full and they have an overfull tube that lets the gass out the samehole. i got that fixed now there leaking from betweem the bowls and carbbodys even with new seals that i put in. mayby i dont have them tight. i dount know but i do know that i really hate working with carbs. :yucky: you cant afford to leak that liquid gold out your carbs man its too expensive!!
