zinger nation Posted July 2, 2008 Report Posted July 2, 2008 has anyone heard of boost port pistons, if so what is it?? Quote
00tbanshee Posted July 2, 2008 Report Posted July 2, 2008 not 100% sure but i think vito's made a piston that had a groove cut in the top of the piston.think i have read about them before Quote
J-Madd Posted July 2, 2008 Report Posted July 2, 2008 The new pistons in my Cheetah have boost ports cut in them. The old ones did not. I also orded a set for it that had no windows at all. They are oem replacement for a big bore 800 cc jet ski engine, that apparently have to be custom machined for the Cheetah. As far as the Vito's pistons, I think they just raise the height of the window or open up the window more...not real sure. Quote
waldo350 Posted July 3, 2008 Report Posted July 3, 2008 the vitos pistons have a notch cut out on the exaust port and the intake ports are mooved lower to inprove or imatate porting but if you use them I sugest you instal larger locating pins for the rings the factory ones are to small and tend to moove causing the rings to spin in the cill and that leeds to KFB. Wildcardracing Posted July 5, 2008 Report Posted July 5, 2008 It's when there is a third window cut in the piston above the intake windows. It's supposed to give a small gain, maybe a couple mph on the hill or a tenth or so on the track. Quote
