HARTZ55 Posted June 26, 2008 Report Posted June 26, 2008 hi, i bought a banshee with T-5s, and i ran it for a couple weeks, then winter came around, then it wouldnt star, then i figured out it was the jetting, i didnt bother until spring to get my bike started. so one day i kicked it over and it started easily, but a couple minutes later it ran outta gas, a week later i filled it up with fresh gas and new air filter, and it wouldn't start. i know it's the carbs(needing to be cleaned), but if ne1 can give me more suggestions, advice for my bike, Please Help!!! Quote
notatallhappy Posted June 26, 2008 Report Posted June 26, 2008 The floats are probably stuck, pick the rear end of your bike and slam it on the ground a couple of times, see if it starts. If it does pull carbs apart and make sure they are clean, also check for wear on the bowl needles. Quote
HARTZ55 Posted June 27, 2008 Author Report Posted June 27, 2008 thanks bro, any1 else have some more ? Quote
Erwin8r Posted June 27, 2008 Report Posted June 27, 2008 (edited) I would start with the obvious. Make sure you have a fresh set of plugs in there, that the plug wires are in good shape, the caps on tight, etc. Next, you need to know how your bike is jetted--which means pulling the carbs and figuring out what's going on in there. I really don't think its a jetting issue unless you're way off on you the pilot jets. Because your bike seems to start fine at times and not at others, I would suspect something else. I also doubt its a stuck bowl issue--it usually leaks fuel when a bowl sticks. Some bikes can be a b*tch to start if the compression is low, too, so that's something else to consider. Get a manual, search some posts here, and just dig in. Good luck! Edited June 27, 2008 by Erwin8r Quote
HARTZ55 Posted June 28, 2008 Author Report Posted June 28, 2008 Thank You, oh i forgot to add , after i put a fresh tank of gas in it, the overflow, was leaking fuel( quite a bit), i am taking it to the shop, anything else would be great to have my bike running fine again, thanks  Quote
magz Posted July 4, 2008 Report Posted July 4, 2008 clean the damn carbs already, if fuel is coming out of the over flow your floats are stuck open... Quote
