Banforlife Posted June 18, 2008 Report Posted June 18, 2008 (edited) I have been battling this for a while now and decided I would ask on here. I did a fresh top end, all new powder coat, removed TORS in the past but just cut off all of the excess plugs to clean up the harness. The bike will start and idle perfect, but after it warms up a bit and I try to ride it the left side goes dead at about 1/4 throttle. I have switched plug wires with no success. I have completely disassembled the carb and cleaned and set the float level. I have removed and inspected the reeds. I removed the coil and made sure that all the powder coat was removed for the coil ground. Any help would be appreciated. Edited June 18, 2008 by Banforlife Quote
NitroTate Posted June 18, 2008 Report Posted June 18, 2008 check and see if your slides are in the wrong sides. Look for the little "ping" mark on the slides and be sure they are facing to the RIGHT side of the bike. Another way to check is to make sure the "cutaway" part of the slides on the bottom edge is to the REAR. Quote

bronco91shee Posted June 18, 2008 Report Posted June 18, 2008 I HAD THIS SAME ISSUE. AFTER WEEKS OF SEARHING, I FOUND THAT THE INTAKE BOOT HAD A VERY SMALL TEAR IN IT(CARB TO CYLINDER). APPRATENLY IT WAS ENOUGH OF A VACCUM LEAK OR SUMTHING TO MAKE IT RUN, BUT NOT GOOD. IDK, WORTH A LOOK..I KNOW I OVERLOOKED IT FOR WEEKS, AS WELL AS THE DEALERSHIP THAT STOLE MY MONEY TO "FIX" IT Quote
randal29 Posted June 19, 2008 Report Posted June 19, 2008 I would try checking your coil. I have a freind that had the same problem. We changed intakes, carbs, reedand plugs. He finaly put it on a dyno and found that the coil was bad. Quote

He finaly put it on a dyno and found that the coil was bad. Well the coil checked out just fine, so I decided to switch carbs from my other Banshee to see if it still might be a fuel issue. Well, low and behold I happened to look in at the air jet and noticed that it was clogged with something. It was hard enough that I had ti twist a drill bit thriugh it by hand to clean it out, no wonder the soaking and air had done nothing for it. I put it all back together and it goes like hell again. Thanks for the input from you guys. Quote
