PhilMoore Posted June 20, 2008 Report Posted June 20, 2008 so i should put it at +2 with the boost bootle and without the boost bottle at +4 and how will i know thats not the right degree Sorry man, I was just kidding about the boost bottle. (do a forum search on boost bottle) Anyway, you really can't go wrong at +4, I think it is the most recommended. Quote

lilmegill727 Posted June 20, 2008 Report Posted June 20, 2008 i have a question, what does a adjustable timing plate even do? does it make much of a difference Quote
PhilMoore Posted June 20, 2008 Report Posted June 20, 2008 i have a question, what does a adjustable timing plate even do? does it make much of a difference It allows you to fine tune when the spark happens. I don't know what the stock timing is (sorry). When you adjust the plate to +4, the spark happens four degrees plus whatever the stock timing is on the crank before the piston reaches top dead center (TDC). To me, it makes the engine feel snappier. It won't give you another 15 HP or blow you away. But, in combination with other mods, it definitely makes a difference. Quote
jamebo Posted June 20, 2008 Report Posted June 20, 2008 i have a question, what does a adjustable timing plate even do? does it make much of a difference It allows you to advance or retard the timing on the engine. Alot of people use them to enhance their bottom-end performance, also works well in combination with a cool-head. Quote
4StrokeKilla Posted June 21, 2008 Author Report Posted June 21, 2008 they were joshin ya' bein a smartass.... boost bottle has ZERO affect on anything... it's just taking up space, no add'l power or response. again, it's just taking up space. run it at +4 minimum, otherwise it's not worth the effort. Depending on your compression and such, I'd go to +6. as far as the 19cc domes, it would just depend on the compress your running. I always ran around 155psi and +7 on the plate. oh ok then so running it at +4 will be just fine then Quote
