look at a set of Works Performance Shocks. They have several differant modles, for the weekend warrior there is no need to drop 1400 bucks on some Elka Elites, just get the Works AT Steelers for the front and Quad Star for the rear and you will see a huge differance.

If you get works, be sure to get exactly the kind of shock you need for your riding style. I got my works built for mx thinking I would like them because I do some jumping from time to time. I was dead wrong, they work great for jumping but have a very stiff ride. If you don't plan on jumping every time you ride, get recreational valving for your weight.

the average rider will not notice a differance. the idea behind the dual tripple and quad rate springs is that they have differant stiffnesses to help on multipul surface types. I just re-read your first post and saw you are going to be buying a 450 soon, if you plan on doing that i would honestly hold off your going to spend a fwe hundred on the shocks and if you sell the bike your not going to get your money back. i wold save the money for the 450
