bansheejoel Posted June 11, 2008 Report Posted June 11, 2008 now it still leaks a little bit up front under the left pipe...what the hell? i used yamabond and it seems like its pushing it out. Quote
J-Madd Posted June 11, 2008 Report Posted June 11, 2008 If there's sludge on the cases there, it's probably just a little exhaust leak that appears to come from the case. Quote
Bansh-eman Posted June 11, 2008 Report Posted June 11, 2008 do a leak down. if it ho9lds pressure then its just from the exhaust like j said Quote
bansheejoel Posted June 11, 2008 Author Report Posted June 11, 2008 im positive its not exhaust...this is the same reason i split the cases to re-seal them and it still is leaking somehow. I can see where its pushing the yamabond out. I did everything the way the manual said to do it....it wont hurt anything b/c its pushing out not sucking in right? thanks...it runs amazing Quote
Bansh-eman Posted June 11, 2008 Report Posted June 11, 2008 if it is pushing the bond out your cases might be warped. Quote
bansheejoel Posted June 11, 2008 Author Report Posted June 11, 2008 it wont hurt anything will it? ive ran it this way for probably 20 hours with no problems Quote
Wildcardracing Posted June 12, 2008 Report Posted June 12, 2008 Joel, Do yourself a favor bud, take it to a good atv mechanic and have a leakdown test done to settle your fears or confirm the problem. If it holds 6psi for 6 minutes you're good to go, if not you'll be able to find where it's leaking from. Quote
Bansh-eman Posted June 12, 2008 Report Posted June 12, 2008 If it IS leaking then yes it can cause huge problems. If you have ran it for 20 hours I very highly doubt that it's leaking. You would have done the damage and locked the motor up within the first hour. Quote
bansheejoel Posted June 14, 2008 Author Report Posted June 14, 2008 im taking it up to the dunes tommarow. I am going to put a new set of plugs in and go rip for a little bit then check them and see what they look like. I checked my plugs after my last ride and they look PERFECT. Damn i dont want to have to split the f-ing cases again to fix this mother. Quote

bansheejoel Posted June 14, 2008 Author Report Posted June 14, 2008 well i just got back from silver lake and ofcource it ran lean. I only ran it for a few mins in the sand and my plugs had little tan color to them so its going to get a leak down test and see wtf is up. Did a compression test and everything is the same as before i left so im glad i put her away before i locked it up. if my cases are warped are they junk or can they deck them or something....by the way bansheeman your banshee you have on craigslist is f-ing badass Quote
