new2_2stroke
I am replacing my stator plate with an adj. one. While in the middle of doing this I noticed that some of the connections on the stator seemed dirty. Is their a safe or proper way of cleaning them or should they just be left alone? suggestions anyone?
okbeast
Dirty...or rusty/corroded? Mine are dirty too, nasty in fact but they still work. You can wipe them down w/ anything really, hell i washed mine with purple power and water and just made sure to dry it well.
new2_2stroke
Upon closer inspection they have a mixture of rust and what looks to be like some dried oil. on the contacts. I thought maybe some 2000 grit sand paper or some alcohol. thanks
Screaming Yellow Zonker
If take a green scrub pad with mineral spirits it will clean it right up.
bunboy1
i use electrical contact cleaner, because it guarantees that there is no oily residue left behind.
