tedd1 Posted June 1, 2008 Report Posted June 1, 2008 Welcome to BHQ! Did you check to see if you are getting a spark? Is it getting fuel? I know it's pretty basic, but that's where I would start. Rick Quote
Animalman294 Posted June 1, 2008 Report Posted June 1, 2008 Yep, two strokes are the same as any other, they need fuel, air and spark. Which ever one it is not getting then thats your problem........... Welcome to the HQ.............. Quote
ws6 Posted June 3, 2008 Author Report Posted June 3, 2008 doesn't seem like it's getting spark it's deffinitly getting fuel i 've changed the plugs and even pulled the plug and tried to get it to ark out on the cylinder head bolt but did not see any spark, is it possible that the coil went? should i change it and see if that works, what about the cdi box could that be my problem Quote
sinisterboo Posted June 3, 2008 Report Posted June 3, 2008 Out of the 100 million banshee's yamaha produced, there have been about 5 that needed a coil. Just kidding, I would get a clymers manual, and check your pick-up coil on the stator, then you can check the ohms on the coil. And if all that checks out, you need a CDI. Ricky Stator sells em for $125 bucks. Jeff at F.A.S.T can prolly hook you up too. What year is your bike? the plug changed some over the years. I just went through this with my wifes 94 'shee. Quote
sinisterboo Posted June 3, 2008 Report Posted June 3, 2008 so if it is your stator or cdi, one from 98-to present will work for ya. Quote
