sheerider1026 Posted May 27, 2008 Report Posted May 27, 2008 ok so i went out on my cub cylindered shee(392cc) so it basically all new and just past broken in. so a guy on a new zuki450 was talking shit and wanted some!! so here goes... we started drag racin just so i could smoke him down.. i know its my fault but heres what happened.. i was taking off in 4th gear WFO!! sometimes i never shifted!! sometimes i needed 5th.. we were on a dirt track that was dry as all can be. so traction was hard to get.. now i have a toasted clutch!! is there a clutch out there that will take this occasional abuse?? or should i just get a lockup??? fastbanshee8 Posted May 27, 2008 Report Posted May 27, 2008 Get a Fast clutch, and be done with it. Fast Racing Quote
bansheejoel Posted May 27, 2008 Report Posted May 27, 2008 wow is all i have to say. 4th gear launches? you had to have been slipping the hell out of that poor clutch. I love the f.a.s.t. racing clutch myself but honestly i dont know of anything that will take 4th gear launches....please tell me you smoked that 450 with your 392 Quote

Snopczynski Posted May 27, 2008 Report Posted May 27, 2008 I run a cascade clutch in my ported bike and the 4 mills. Quote
kawiking Posted May 27, 2008 Report Posted May 27, 2008 call jeff at f.a.s.t. .... ive had one of his clutches for a year 1/2.... and has never slipped on me.. i drag race it all the time Quote
dajogejr Posted May 27, 2008 Report Posted May 27, 2008 4th season on my fast clutch. If you got a cub and you're drag racing, get a lockup and override or you're wasting time, IMO. Then get the right tires, the right gearing...and go from there. Quote
gregrob Posted May 27, 2008 Report Posted May 27, 2008 My cheapo tusk clutch from rmatv is holding good. Beat on it pretty hard all weekend and never a slip. Holds in my buddies 4mil too which is a lot hotter than mine. I'm using 3 of the hd springs and 3 stockers. If you want to go 1 step further get FZR1000 fibers and barnett steels, that's what jeff and kevin sells and it's supposed to work great. Quote

okbeast Posted May 27, 2008 Report Posted May 27, 2008 Tusk clutches seem to do alright with the lower power bikes. We'll see how mine stands up in a bigger motor with a lock-up. Quote
tgbanshee Posted May 27, 2008 Report Posted May 27, 2008 Another vote for the F.A.S.T. clutch here. Quote
sheerider1026 Posted May 28, 2008 Author Report Posted May 28, 2008 i think the clutch i have is the tusk clutch(not downing it guys) i have seriously abused it though .. lol .. someone school me on the overide tranny's.. i assume that trail riding is tossed out the window when you go that route???
