jjmartin626 Posted May 26, 2008 Report Posted May 26, 2008 i just got bak from the dunes and i had one pipe that throws more smoke than the other i have a 4mm stroke with drag port, blaster pistons, vf3, 35 air strikers, t5 pipes, lightened flywheel and wut should i do next i wus thinking alcohol and drag pipes will i notice a big difference with that Quote
peak-j Posted May 26, 2008 Report Posted May 26, 2008 So the only problem with this setup is one side smokes worse that the other? Quote
lowbuckracing Posted May 26, 2008 Report Posted May 26, 2008 Did you run new plugs? Are the carbs in sinc..both fuel mixtures the same...In-frame drag pipes will wake that beast up.Your performance is down with the t-5 on a drag port 4 mill...Alky is another story..Need different domes to run higher compression for alky,Somewhere around 200 psi for top performance also need power jets for the carbs.Lots of options but I would figure out why it is smoking on one side first before rolling the dice again. sheefreak Posted May 27, 2008 Report Posted May 27, 2008 Before I would even think about Alky, I would look into and override and lockup. Sucking coolant will also cause it to smoke bad on one side if you have a bad or pinced o-ring. Does it ever spit coolant? Quote
jjmartin626 Posted May 31, 2008 Author Report Posted May 31, 2008 no it never spills coolant should i get big bore drag pipes or small bore pipes? Quote
rubberneck Posted May 31, 2008 Report Posted May 31, 2008 Which side is smoking more?? Your porter could tell you which size pipes would be the best, but i would imagine small bores. Quote
2Smoker Posted June 2, 2008 Report Posted June 2, 2008 I would do a couple of things - take your carbs apart and clean them and check your plugs do a compression test and check your reeds. You didn't mention a timing advance - get a plate and advance it 3-4 degrees it'll wake it up if it's not done already also if you aren't running a dyna fs ignition throw iridium plugs in - they are indexed from the factory and the open electrode points at your intake every time it helps a bit. I would also get rid of the t5's and get some good in frames and maybe some clutch work. Also what kind of fuel are you running? some avgas or 110 will make it run better too Quote
