LostcauseZ06 Posted May 12, 2008 Report Posted May 12, 2008 Hey all, I just bought my 1998 banshee from a friend of mine out here in utah. brought it home on friday and im loving ever bit of it Any of you utah guys might no me as all my buddies ride and im good friends with the muchmores and such. I also spend alot of time at the track racing my 02 Z06 which im sure some of you have seen around. Anyways.. good to be here! Now for the first Q... i bought this banshee from a friend who bought it from a guy unloading it. I really no no idea whats done to it. I was told the top end has been rebuilt very recently and the compression is indicative of a good running, almost too good running for my taste bike. The compression is a solid 130 PSI on both cylinders! i know domes on the coolhead could bump up the compression that high but i find it hard to believe somebody would throw the smallest CC domes in a mostly stock bike ya know? like i said im up in utah so elevation is pretty dang high which is why the compression makes me wonder. Also kinda stinks because i am forced to run race gas all the time. Here are some pics Quote
jesse1004 Posted May 12, 2008 Report Posted May 12, 2008 first to say welcome to the site. I think you were asking a question but not sure what it was? and 130 psi really isnt that high. I think im right about 175 and my bike is nothing special. Quote

becher10 Posted May 12, 2008 Report Posted May 12, 2008 I can't help you with your compression but I am sure you will find all the awnsers to your questions on this site. The shee looks solid, how much did you pay (if you dont mind me asking). Anyway, welcome aboard and post some pictures of your Z06 Quote
Dinner Posted May 12, 2008 Report Posted May 12, 2008 Welcome to the HQ  In regards to your "having to run race gas all the time"...is the engine running some sort of timing as well with that compression? 130PSi doesn't need race fuel, even if the engine is set at +4 you shouldn't have to run race fuel with that compression, IMO. LostcauseZ06 Posted May 12, 2008 Author Report Posted May 12, 2008 (edited) good to know. most 2 stroke guys i know say they run race fuel on anything over 120 PSI cylinder pressure. That should save me some coin for sure. ill post some pics of the Z later today, stupid works new blocks blocked my photobucket account i paid 2800 for the shee, which included a set of skat track hauler tripple buffed rear paddles and dune tracker fronts, both sets of tires are mounted on douglas wheels.
