I know you know this now but you must always unhook electricals before welding. If there is a even a slight short it will send the power back through the system.

Example. I have an over-head track crane at my shop. We never weld on something that is hanging or touching the crane. If it shorts it will burn up the cranes electronics. Im sure it works the same for a atv.

i didnt think to unhook any electronics.....i dont have access to any other shee's....is there anyway to test the electronics so i dont have to buy parts i dont need

Yes. If you call Ricky Stator Inc., you can ship your electrical components to them & they will provide an honest testing for you. I shipped my stuff to them once & they told me the components were good... They did not try to sell me something I didn't need.

well i went out with the diagrams from the above link, and it started up first kick like it always does....they would rule out the cdi box correct???? but it was only running on 1 cylinder....i did drop that plug though when i pulled them....ive got new plugs to go in but havent gotten back there since.....whats my chances that its gonna run good with just new plugs....i thought about it and i welded the other side exhaust bracket without unhooking any electronics and its been fine since
