They're spring rate is infinitely adjustable with in certain ranges via the the fact they use nitrogen gas as the spring mechanism. They are also really light.......... However, the Fox Floats have them beat I think. :geek: Quote
kawiking Posted April 24, 2008 Author Report Posted April 24, 2008 are they stiffer ? dont u want a stiffer shock in the back for drag racing... ie struts Quote
shanYE west Posted April 24, 2008 Report Posted April 24, 2008 (edited) are they stiffer ? dont u want a stiffer shock in the back for drag racing... ie struts They can be.. depends on the nitrogen charge. Pump up the pressure and it'll be as stiff as a strut.. let some out and it can be pretty soft. Kinda best of both worlds as long as you got a charge station handy. I agree with mark though.. If I had my choice ( and money) I would have gotten the floats! only weight .5lbs more then a shaw or somthing like that. Edited April 24, 2008 by Fouledout421 Quote
kawiking Posted April 24, 2008 Author Report Posted April 24, 2008 do u mich.. boys not run struts Quote
shanYE west Posted April 24, 2008 Report Posted April 24, 2008 do u mich.. boys not run struts Some of us do.. but alot of us take our bikes right from the track and hit the dunes for some racing too. It'd be kinda ruff out there with a strut. Although some people have been known to do it........... I wont mention any names! lol Quote
kawiking Posted April 24, 2008 Author Report Posted April 24, 2008 i had my strut on last year down on the sand bar.. take it ,this is just a lightly ported shee. stood the damn thing almost strait up, with my +6 swinger... so.... no more strut on sand bar and dunes. i had it on one day and was hauling a$$ down the street.. hit a bump and about threw me off the damn bike.. so no more strut on pavement.. yea... that marvin is looking better everytime i think about it.... lol Quote
dajogejr Posted April 24, 2008 Report Posted April 24, 2008 They're spring rate is infinitely adjustable with in certain ranges How can something be infinitely adjustable in a certain range??? Smack your head and jar loose some bong resin again???  Rico, they're cheap...they can be polished to a mirror and they work. Simple Nitro charge is all they need most times. And yes, they can be made damn near as stiff as a strut. My rear marvin comp is 1500 PSI. With a 250lb fatty on it, it moves less than an inch on take off. That's with a 14 over arm, that's a lot of leverage on it. Quote
kawiking Posted April 24, 2008 Author Report Posted April 24, 2008 thanks dave... what kind is yours ? Quote
dajogejr Posted April 24, 2008 Report Posted April 24, 2008 Comp series all around. Stiff as a mofo... Quote
kawiking Posted April 24, 2008 Author Report Posted April 24, 2008 ok .. nother ?.. sorry.. why are u running them up front. why not just use shorter shocks ? Quote

06BaNsHeE Posted April 24, 2008 Report Posted April 24, 2008 My friend was going to test out shaws this weekend to see if they improve his ET any but it wouldnt hold nitrogen or w/e for some reason. We run on the Street not track BTW.Struts is what all the sitdown bikes run around here. Quote
KaosBanshee44 Posted April 24, 2008 Report Posted April 24, 2008 Hell i have the hillshooters all around and there stiff as a mofo but if your going low in the front you don't want that much travel just a little. Go with the marvins Rico Quote
