The back tires are not getting traction...or you are wheeling... There is no other. You simply can not take a 120 to 150 HP motor, on a stock swingarm with the front end strapped down and get traction and not stand it straight up. If you are not doing one you're doing the other... Or, you're not giving the bike full throttle...which, IMO is a waste too. Sorry...just my own findings from racing with guys from stock motors to BIG motors...and RDZ and A&S know how to make motors run as well.... Quote
SQUIRREL MASTER Posted April 16, 2008 Report Posted April 16, 2008 no offense taken trust me. have you ever strapped down a bike? when these guys launch its at full throttle. you usually spin thru first and catch at second. yeah thats not full potential speed but for a stand up set up it is. no wheelies just spinning thru first. thats how we dont wheely the bike we spin thru first and catch at second. when we launch we push down on the handlebars and let those bike tires rip. im 100% positive a slower drag bike can beat the stand up set up of the launch but you only gonna have around five people to race. having a stand up set up down here is how you pick up a race. i forgot to mention when i say spinning i dont mean we spin in place and then start moving in second. we're moving as were spinning it the only way to take off on a stand up bike. if you dont spin off the launch then its wheely time. if you wheely time your pockets are gonna stay empty. and yes i completly understand to get full potential power of the launch you need the proper set up i dont disagree. having a drag set up down here is boring, you might have no one to race at the drag strip unless you wanna drive 4 hours to immokalee. unfortunately street racing with stand up set ups is whats popular down here. kawiking Posted April 17, 2008 Report Posted April 17, 2008 dave.. alot of people are doin that around here now... 4 mill cubs that look like a stock bike. they even have their stock heads cut for thr 4 mill. or black noss or mod quad heads so they look stock. ive cought acouple of people doin that shit.... sorry but thats a mono block and those 34 pj's are not stock carbs.... :cool: but they will still swear they are stock bolt ons.... bolt on cubs.. its all about gambling.... they will make it look slow ,then the cash comes out. bunch of bullshit to me... snowmanzz13 Posted April 17, 2008 Author Report Posted April 17, 2008 wow, what a topic i started... lol i'd like to be able to have this as a stand up bike, but i think i would like the extended swingarm, i would go with like a +6 or so and just strap it or use struts and make it look strapped down. i think i would be doing a lot of 1/8mile as i dont have nearly the big enough balls to go and run with you guys down in miami (i dont like running from the popo) i would like that sleeper look just acouple things to help it hook up and be able to launch on it hard and not have to deal with tire spin off the line, I might eventually go and do a little streeting with it but i would need to learn this bike on a track before i just jump in the ring with the big dogs.... 06, let me know when your gonna be running it, i'm usually out at 27 on friday nights at the sunoco there watching the street races(my jeep wont keep up lol) after the car show in broward Quote

And another .5 to spot stock carbs vs. aftermarket.... If it's my money, I'm going to know what I'm getting into. if it's for fun...I'll run anything.... I drive 2 hours to not have to worry about the cops, etc., and to get legit results....that's more fun to me... Quote

SQUIRREL MASTER Posted April 17, 2008 Report Posted April 17, 2008 sounds like a good trail bike for me. lol. if you didnt have the out of frames you can definately trail ride though. i ride with 2 guys with 10mill's you just cant go thru water and when your done riding you gotta clean your air filters. thats if you have any filters on and change your spark plugs. oh i forgot you have to carry your gas with you to.
