hey i just picked up a 1997 banshee and i can see the jetting is not right so what i want to do is start rejetting but i do not want to keep pulling this air box off and on. I would like to put a set of like twin air or uni clamp on filters right on the carb and elimanate the air box but when you stand at the back of the bike and look at the carbs they seem to be shifted to the left a little bit so i wonder if it is possible to have clamp on filters or not it looks like the left side of the frame might be in the way any suggestions would be great thanks AXL

Not sure what your asking really but does it have tors? maybe the cap on the carb is loose and the tors are shifted on top on the carb making them appear offset? i just got done rejetting one with tors and an airbox, told my buddy to take it elsewhere next time, what a pain in the ass!!!!

the tors are off just caps. The carbs are offset slightly to the left side of the motor when looking at them from the back off the bike. How can i tell what size carbs i have i dont know if they are stock or not?

The whole engine sits left of center in the frame...

EDIT: if you have an airbox, chances are you have stock carbs. Many places sell the 'banshee' pod kit: two filters, two outerwears, and a water bottle relocator bracket (if you choose to still use one).

take a pair of calipers and measure the inner diameter of the intake side of carb, sounds to me like the carbs are not seated all the way in the intake boots man.. stock carb is 26mm

Offset yes but enough to visually notice? maybe dunno i never seen a drastic difference between both sides, loosen the intake clamp and make sure the carb is pushed all the way in though first before you start rejetting stuff or burn something up

hmm, strange. what year bike is yours? maybe my shits tweaked or something lol eitherway a clamp on is a good add on and will save you boatloads of time rejetting something and a few oz's to boot  ima go measure my shit now hahaha i believe ya and now im curious......

It is enough for me to notice...

yeah its not much very little bit to the left. i have a polaris predator with a clamp on filter maybe that filter is just a lot bigger than the ones that will go an my banshee looks like if the clamp on filter was to big it would be hitting on the little piece that sticks out for holding the air box in place . Maybe i will just cut them tabs for the air box off thanks alot AXL
