bansheejoel Posted April 15, 2008 Report Posted April 15, 2008 ok so since i bought this shee ive been dealing with the damn clutch creeping when it gets warm....ive adjusted the clutch a few times, both with the cable and with the pancake bearing. I got the grooves out of the basket thinking maybe that was my problem. I also put a new tusk clutch kit in it that now only has about 5hrs total on it but it had hot spots on the steel plates. Ive looked at both the inner and outer hubs and they seem to look OK. I can not get it to stop doing this shit. What do you guys think i should do? Im thinking about calling fast tommarow and ordering a new inner and outer clutch hub as well as there clutch kit and buying a new clutch cable since i have all that shit taken off now. Im willing to spend the money to fix the problem but i dont feel like throwing good money after bad to try and fix a problem that i cant seem to find out what it is. After buying and installing these parts i should be golden right? or is there something else that could be causing this that im just overlooking....thanks alot guys Quote
Bansh-eman Posted April 15, 2008 Report Posted April 15, 2008 to be honest your just wasting your money if you paln on buying all billet clutch components. IF you inface need a new inner hub or pressure plate just get a stocker. the billet basket is a must. Also you can buy the FZR1000 clutch your self or go through jeff either way its the same clutch. bansheejoel Posted April 15, 2008 Author Report Posted April 15, 2008 the clutch hubs i was looking at are stockers i thought...they are only $50 for the both of them...i just dont know what to do anymore the damn clutch is torn apart more than its together....if i buy the new inner and outer clutch hubs along with a new clutch and cable do you think that will solve it or is there more to it than that...thanks...im just sick of taking it apart and putting it back together without any change.... okbeast Posted April 15, 2008 Report Posted April 15, 2008 How much does the bike creep on you? Quote
bansheejoel Posted April 15, 2008 Author Report Posted April 15, 2008 it only creeps at high rpm's.....its wierd like for example...if i pull in the clutch and get the rpm's maybe around 7000 it will creep then release...creep then release...like it only creeps for a second then releases then does it again and again. Quote
okbeast Posted April 15, 2008 Report Posted April 15, 2008 Sorry but i don't think you're going to fix that and get it exactly perfect. I mean every banshee i've been on will creep if you hold in the clutch and get it into the HIGH rpm's...they just do that. Quote
bansheejoel Posted April 15, 2008 Author Report Posted April 15, 2008 well that makes me feel a little better i quess...i think since its all apart im going to buy a new inner clutch hub atleast....thanks for the input Quote
Bansh-eman Posted April 15, 2008 Report Posted April 15, 2008 (edited) it sounds like your plates are fried or you just dont have it adjusted right. all bike will creep a little at high rpm's but your idea of a little and mine might be pretty differant edit: also what oil are you running? bansheejoel Posted April 15, 2008 Author Report Posted April 15, 2008 im running honda hp...ive tried gear saver as well. if there is just my clutch basket and my inner clutch hub with the nut tightened down should my clutch basket be able to wiggle a little bit? just want to make sure thats ok because mine does a little bit thanks Quote
bansheejoel Posted April 15, 2008 Author Report Posted April 15, 2008 what could cause it to be able to wiggle a little bit a bad bushing? Quote
Bansh-eman Posted April 15, 2008 Report Posted April 15, 2008 how exactly is it wiggling? like front and back? or side to side? or is it twisting li,e the basket moves on the gear? oh and man you dont have to start a new thread for each post that youve already asked Quote
BellicoseBanshee Posted April 15, 2008 Report Posted April 15, 2008 I bet the rivets holding the stock basket to the gear are worn a little. Quote
bansheejoel Posted April 15, 2008 Author Report Posted April 15, 2008 it moves a little bit by turning it then it stops then you can turn it the other way but thats b/c of the cushions...the wiggle im talking about is you can pull it toward you, and push it away from you it moves maybe maybe 1/16th inch....i can see that its the big bushing/spacer and the copper basket bushing is where its comming from..i ordered a new bushing/spacer from f.a.s.t along with some new clutch hubs..can the copper bushing in the basket be pressed out and a new one pressed in? thanks Quote
Bansh-eman Posted April 15, 2008 Report Posted April 15, 2008 is there a washer behind the basket and another between the inner hub and basket? Quote
