Colby Posted April 9, 2008 Report Posted April 9, 2008 What all is involved in an out-of-frame pipe installation on a banshee? Building a drag 4 mil, goin with shearer small bore oof. Do all the neccessary peices come with the pipes? How do they mount? Tried search but to no avail. Thanks in advance. Quote
dajogejr Posted April 9, 2008 Report Posted April 9, 2008 Luck of the draw...my man. The pipes will come with everything except pipe springs and a mount for the peg. On mine, I use a stock front pipe hanger to mount them. In my opinion, it is CRITICAL they are not solid mounted, they need to have rubber/bushings to flex or give. Normally the mount bracket on the lower pipe will not line up properly with the peg, you'll have to get creative. I also bought small isolaters to mount the pipes to each other to make things easier (think of a rubber block with a stud out each side) I will send you a pic of mine later today if I can remember, I have to put mine back on tonight.... trex banshee Posted April 9, 2008 Report Posted April 9, 2008 Mine fit like a damn glove! All the holes lines right up, i do however have to get some type of rubber in between the mount and peg though before i do much more riding. Quote
dajogejr Posted April 9, 2008 Report Posted April 9, 2008 Check out Grainger...they make nice isolators. Also...a log of cold air intake kits have isolators in them when they remove the airbox. Just a thought. Quote
jbooker82 Posted April 9, 2008 Report Posted April 9, 2008 Dont know anyting about fitting OOF pipes but you could go to the hardware store and buy a couple of rubber stopper and just use a bolt and a couple of fender washers. Quote
