Whats up guys. Im new to the forum as you can tell, and sorta new to the riding scene too. I got my banshee last march and around fall/winter i noticed i could hear a clicking sound when i sat on it and rocked left and right. Upon furter inspection i came to realize that it was comming from the rear right side. I can grab the rotor and rotate it forwards and backwards just a little bit and it also moves left and right, Break hub and all... A few of my friends say it might be a bearing, but i have no idea. and i dont really want to take it anywhere to get it diagnosed because i do not have a pickup, or trailer. So what do you experts over here at the Shee HQ think it is? A bearing? or am i gonna have to get a whole new damn axle carrier lol :P

make sure your Jam nuts are nice and tight. If it still does it then its probably your carrier bearings.

Thanks for replying, but could you elaborate on that for me? :P

Properly tighten the axle nuts and then inspect the rotor/hub again. If you are still experiencing axial or radial play with the axle, then you may have an issue with the axle carrier bearings. The splines on the hub and axle may be worn as well.

chances are your axle nuts are loose. they are the big nuts on the left side of the carrier. i dont have a wrench big enough so i use a pipe wrench. wrecks the nuts, but whatever, it works

if tightening the nuts takes care of it, i wouldn't bother with the carrier bearings just yet, but keep an eye on it. if you jack the rear end up a little and grab each wheel and try push forwards/backwards on them you'll feel that it's loose if the bearings are shot.

while you're doing that, check your swingarm where it bolts to the frame. the bearings at the swinger pivot wear out and let it rock side to side also.
