hercalmighty Posted March 23, 2008 Report Posted March 23, 2008 Hey guys. This is for the engine guys out there. I was wondering what the power difference is between a stock engine, a long rod engine, and a stroker engine are. Take into account that the shee is stock except for open air box, vforces, and T-6s. jbooker82 Posted March 23, 2008 Report Posted March 23, 2008 stock and long rod crank is going to be the same. The long rod decreases the force on the piston skirts. Making a more reliable engine. 4mill long rod stroker is going to pull harder in the midrange. To take full advantage of the stroker you need to have the cylinders ported. Quote
shanYE west Posted March 23, 2008 Report Posted March 23, 2008 yep. Stock and long rod is the same. Stroker is good for about 5-8hp. The real gains come from the portwork like booker said. Quote
hercalmighty Posted March 23, 2008 Author Report Posted March 23, 2008 I was wondering because I know couple years ago Yamaha was using a longer rod with a plate on the yz250s. The mags said it really made a difference in the power (not really more hp but a different power delivery). I was wondering if the same thing happened in the shee. Thanks guys Quote
