Take two pennies and put them between the clutch basket gear, and the primary gears. The soft pennies wont hurt the gears and you should be able to break the nut free. I forgot you are supposed to use the special Yamaha tool that holds the clutch boss while you break the torque on the nut. What i did was put the clutch pack back in and used a clamp to hold the pack in the clutch basket. This pressure will keep the boss from rotating. Now use the penny trick to keep the entire basket from spinning. you don't need a ton of pressure to keep the boss from spinning so don't over do it! Edited March 17, 2008 by CombatTalon2 Quote
bunboy1 Posted March 17, 2008 Report Posted March 17, 2008 you can get the clutch holding tool from rockymountainatv.com for like 15 bucks. it is a good investment since you will need it to put the clutch back on. the tool also doubles as fly wheel holder. i hope this helps. Quote
