hey I am trying to tear into my bottom end and I am having trouble trying to get the big nut off the clutch basket assembly need help please thanks guys (does anyone have a clutch basket for sale also)

Either use an impact wrench, or if you don't have that. Take two pennies and put them between the clutch basket gear, and the primary gears. The soft pennies wont hurt the gears and you should be able to break the nut free.

the gears are not spinning nor is the clutch basket. The round thing the clutch plates go around spins along with the big nut aling with what the nut is on. I cant get them to stop spinning to get the nut off.

yeah, thats right. I forgot you are supposed to use the special Yamaha tool that holds the clutch boss while you break the torque on the nut. What i did was put the clutch pack back in and used a clamp to hold the pack in the clutch basket. This pressure will keep the boss from rotating. Now use the penny trick to keep the entire basket from spinning. you don't need a ton of pressure to keep the boss from spinning so don't over do it!

you can get the clutch holding tool from rockymountainatv.com for like 15 bucks. it is a good investment since you will need it to put the clutch back on. the tool also doubles as fly wheel holder. i hope this helps.
