Just wanted to know what a stock banshee compression should be. I have pretty much all stock, except t5s, k&n filter, no motor work at all, and 600 above sea level. I have 110 compression in both cylinders. Is this ok or low. Only have no more than 20 hrs on bike and thought the jetting was pretty close all the time. Thxs for any info!!!!

your gauge probly reads about 10 psi less than actual. if the treaded part is not as long as the spark plug thread. mine is that way. there is about 1cc difference between the 2

When my psi got to 110, I rebuilt her, but you should be okay until 100psi then It rebuild time..

Make sure its the same in both cylinders and then check it again in a few months and see where you are at..

yeah my banshee only has exactly 110psi in both cylinders to. There is still snow here in michigan so i still have some downtime before i can ride so im going to hurry and do a top end in the next week or so just to be on the safe side so i dont have to do it when the weather is nice.

If you change the rings, will you please measure & record the amount of compression using the same gauge? Please post the results so we will know the amount of improvement???

Guys, gaging the condition of an engine by compression alone is like rolling a bowling ball down the lane blind folded. We would pull a motor down, no question at 110psi. About 90% of the time, when the rings are worn enough to allow that much blow-by, the pistons are generally worn out too. You can save yourself a crank by at least opening it and mic'ing everything. Can't tell you how many broke pistons we see. Guess you could always run er till she blows too.
