robsully5150 Posted March 4, 2008 Report Posted March 4, 2008 I just recieved a set of 30mm cpw carbs for my banshee and I was wondering what jet size I should start with. In my stock carbs i ran .270 mains. and stock pilot jets. Those carbs ran great with my old setup. I just got the bike bored and a mild port job done on it. I ride trails and tracks mainly. I have full fmf and reeds and k&N all the basic goodies. Im just trying to find a starting point for these bigger carbs. Do I use a smaller main jet? I think cpw sent 155 and 160's with them but i dont want to way under shoot the jetting. I have used the search engine, and it's hard to find anything about CPW carbs or 30mm so any and all help would be much appreciated. Quote
dang Posted March 4, 2008 Report Posted March 4, 2008 I was thinking about getting the same carb set up, how much did you get them for? Quote
RadarRacing Posted March 5, 2008 Report Posted March 5, 2008 148-160's usually. So they got you close. Quote

TexasBansheeMan Posted March 5, 2008 Report Posted March 5, 2008 (edited) STAY ON POINT GUYS HE HAS A QUESTION ANSWER IT OR JUST VIEW. What is your altitude? I am at sea level and have about the same mods. I run 160 mains and 50 slow jets, air screw at .75 turns, and the supplied needle on the 3rd clip. Edited March 5, 2008 by TexasBansheeMan Quote
tnr Posted March 5, 2008 Report Posted March 5, 2008 Mods are in sig., and I run a 160 main, 48 pilot, supplied needle in the 3rd clip, and air screw out 1.5 turns. I am also at sea level. Quote
RedStrapperRacing Posted November 22, 2009 Report Posted November 22, 2009 Hey guys this is a pretty old post but I thought I'd stick to it and not start a new one. I just recently purchased the same set of carbs (30mm D slides) and was wondering if these jetting tips worked out? I'm running T6 Toomeys with Vforce3 reed cage & boost bottle, stock bore. I see 160 mains and needle clip position on the 3rd seem to be the norm but what about the pilot 48 or 50? Turns out - .75 or 1.5 ? Also wondering what type of air filters are you running / had best results with? Quote

Non ported i think 150 main and 50 pilot will be real close needle in 3rd clip Ported, maybe 152-158 main and 50-55 pilot depending on pipes.Torque pipes generally like bigger pilot and raise up needle 1 clip, top end pipes can get away with 50 maybe even 48 pilot.I run a MX ported 4 mill with FMF gnarlys and Im 155 , 55 needle 2nd clip from bottom..1.25-1.5 turns out I love these carbs, they are very easy to tune. RedStrapperRacing Posted November 25, 2009 Report Posted November 25, 2009 Thanks BigBore - These numbers sound a little closer - I'm running K&N pods w/ outerwears. I'll let ya know how it comes out. Are you at sea level? Quote
