tedd1 Posted February 27, 2008 Report Posted February 27, 2008 I pulled my motor down today and would lke to know what pistons I have. Looking at the top of the piston with the forward arrow pointing down. There is, along the top edge, 1083L. Across the center there is 513M06400. Can anyone tell me anything about these pistons from these numbers? Thanks, Rick Quote
IrideA250R Posted February 27, 2008 Report Posted February 27, 2008 (edited) stock bore (64mm) Wiseco 513 series (stock banshee crank) arrow points out the exhaust port. Here's mine I pulled a few days ago at 64.75mm http://www.silverlakesandduners.com/pics/a...80225%20004.jpg Edited February 27, 2008 by IrideA250R Quote
sheerider1026 Posted February 27, 2008 Report Posted February 27, 2008 250r ya beat me to it.. hey man, those pistons look pretty clean. what kinda fuel and oil you burning? your mods and jetting?? just curious.. looks to be jetted decent. Quote
IrideA250R Posted February 27, 2008 Report Posted February 27, 2008 (edited) I just bought it about a month ago, so I tore it down to ensure the topend was healthy. Looks like the previous owner did a recent rebuild. I've only put an hour or so on the bike since I bought it. 93 octane fuel and Amsoil. I'm guessing the lack of build up is more so due to the very little time on the motor and not the fuel/oil. I was pretty happy when I saw the pistons, it's nice to buy a bike that doesn't need a new topend immediately for once  mods currently are T5's VF3s Chariot timing plate at +5 K&N clamp ons jetting is: 320 mains Vitos needles for stock carbs, 4th clip 30 pilots air temp 28F at 900 feet elevation. I just sent the cylinders out to be ported, and I ordered a chariot cool head and a set of 19cc domes for race fuel, and 21cc's for pump gas. Should be fun when I get it back to go along with my '07 YFZ 450. Edited February 27, 2008 by IrideA250R Quote
tedd1 Posted February 27, 2008 Author Report Posted February 27, 2008 Stock bore, huh? Good news...that's exactly what I needed. Thanks, man. Quote
sheerider1026 Posted February 27, 2008 Report Posted February 27, 2008 kool.. i run amsoil myself and swear by it!! it does burn pretty clean though. i use the dominator at 50:1.. i run 19cc domes at 600-700 elevation with +5 timing on 93 pump gas.. seems to be fine.. my cylinders are at passion right now getting bored.. they were a used set of jugs i came across, .
