FireHead Posted February 12, 2008 Report Posted February 12, 2008 E85 or M85 is all I ever run. It's like traditional alcohol except it's a little less harmful to exposed metal, fuel lines, etc. Plus, they sell it from a pump two blocks from my house. :thumbsup: Quote

If you're going to go through the trouble of setting up to use it, just use methanol or alcohol. Methanol is my choice hands down. Its also the reason I have a second tank on my bike. lol! Quote

I havn't found where you can buy meth or alk in small quanities. BigRed350x: how do you get the fuel from that tank to the carbs? do you just use the fuel pump? or is it high enough to gravity feed. I was thinking of doing something like that, but I don't want to put afuel pump on. Quote

I might just have to get some and try it out. Keep in mind you'll have to run more of it than gas...just like methanol...so suddenly the savings aren't as obvious... I can buy methanol by VP for around 35 a can, but I'm probably going to get a 55 gallon drum delivered to my house this year....much easier....and WAY cheaper. Propanol, butanol, other hydocarbon chains with OH- on the end ("ol") are categorized as alcohol. Drinking ethanol will get you drunk, any of the other alcohols will likely kill you, btw. I've read that you jet for e-85 the same way as methanol, but I have no experience w/ E-85. Quote
