Ok, I almost ordered a set of V force reeds but I've been readin on here and am getting mixed signals.

Did someone dyno test these a while back? Can someone link that up?

Also, if I change the reeds in the stock cages and port them, or if I use vf3's, should I run spacers?

Thanks,

Greg

I ran ported stock cages on my play bike, and I run vf3's on my drag bike and I think they work about the same. the vf3's might have alittle more throttle response though.

only time I see reed spacers needed is when you are tryin to run big carbs and you wanna get the float bowl to clear the clutch arm on the top of the case

Yep, don't run the spacers just to "look cool" or for "performance" There is 0 performance gain from spacers, and its only going to give you a bigger chance of a gasket leak having spacers in there when you dont need them. ONLY reason to have them is if you need more space for some big carbs.

spacers- no hp gain just clearance. only run em if you need more room to clear the clutch arm.

reeds- run your stockers until you get bigger jugs or at the very least a stroker crank.

I dyno tested the stock cages with carbon tech petals vs vforce reeds last weekend. Carbon tech setup made a bigger difference. Only time you need reed spacers is to clear the clutch arm, or on bigger motors. They do make a performance difference on a bigger engine setup.

Awesome guys! thanks. You've already saved me some money. I'll hold off on the V3's for now.

Can someone point to where I can buy the carbon reeds, and instructions on porting my own cages?
