gentner8 Posted February 9, 2008 Report Posted February 9, 2008 Title says it all. I have a 99 shee and bought a Dyna ignition from ebay, but I didnt get any paperwork. I tried to get the manual online, but that particular model is not listed. The ones that are listed are very vague. I am just looking to swap it out for the stocker. I dont have a tach or anything like that. BTW, can i and do I want to add a timing plate with this? Will it work ok with the nology coil and wires I have on the way??? Quote
Bansh-eman Posted February 9, 2008 Report Posted February 9, 2008 you just swap the plugs from the old cdi to this one. you will probly hve 3 extra wires coming out, dont worry you dont need to hook anything to those. thats for a tach and a few other things ... i run mine with my timig plate on +4 and i also run a nology, just dont relocate your cdi to the front of the bike with the nology or you will have problems with interferance. and if your not already start running resistor plugs. What curve do you have yours set on with that setup? So I DO want to run the resistor plugs? That would be the BR8ES? Just out of curiosity, have you tried the combo with standard wires instead of the hot wires? Quote

Bansh-eman Posted February 9, 2008 Report Posted February 9, 2008 i run curve 3 for the most advanced timing... but i had to get a replacement switch and they sent me the wrong one so if i dot get it by pres ill be running stock curve.... and yes those are the correct plugs, i have not tryed it without the hotwires. this will be my first season with the nology. before this i ran the stocker. with the dyna. Snopczynski Posted February 9, 2008 Report Posted February 9, 2008 We run a stroker with a nology coil and the dyna relocated to the front. No issues, except the lighting wire melted to the harness which acted funny for awhile. Dyna makes a coil kit that they recommend for the banshee with their cdi. Its a DCK7-4 dyna part #. Quote

The reason I ask about the wires is because I would think it would cancel out the extra power from the ignition since the wire have the capacitor in them. Basically, the wires dictate how much power hits the plug, not the ignition since it will fire the spark once the capacitor reaches its full charge. Maybe Im wrong. Did you notice any difference when you put the nology on in place of the stocker? Edited February 9, 2008 by gentner8 Quote

I am not sure that makes any sense............ :geek: Quote
dajogejr Posted February 9, 2008 Report Posted February 9, 2008 I ran my Dyna on 3, plate at 5 or 6, Nology with hotwires and ran BR8ES...on my gas 4 mil cub, it was fine. I ran my Dyna part of the year last year, but went back to OEM CDI for my 10 mil dragger. Dyna tells you to run resistor plugs, Nology tells you to run non-resistor with their hot wires.... I figured since the Dyna was more expensive, I'd do what they say....no issues, but as said, I put my OEM CDI back on last year. Quote
scooter6101982 Posted February 9, 2008 Report Posted February 9, 2008 where can i get the nology wires sorry to go off topic? Quote
