It will give you a little bit of bottom end punch. What elevation do you ride, and how much are you having milled off??? It increases your compression and therefore your octane requirements.

While you got it apart, get a port job, true and weld the crank, advance the timing, lighten the flywheel, go .40 or .50 over, then you should really notice the shaved head

Hey rides at Little Sahara, Ut. He's a buddy of mine, so I'm sure we'll all meet up?

What up Brandon?

Then I would probably go .030 to .040 at the most, You should still be safe on premium pump fuel at that elevation. What's happenin Matt?

Don't know how far he plans on tearin into it to have the head milled???? lol. I'll agree with most of this advice except the over bore, avoid boring as much as possible and make those cylinders last!

He just had his top end redone so I don't think he's going to tear into it now. He was asking how much hp you'd get from a mill on the head. I don't know the correct answer for that.

Not sure how much you will notice, some more power down low for sure.

Make sure to check your squish if you're having it milled and not re-chambered just to be safe that you don't shove a piston into it

Agreed!!! As for power increases I would say a couple of hp at the most, more torque in the bottom end. I would honestly recommend saving your $$ and spending it on a timing advance plate instead, more bang for your buck.

i got .020 taken off mine. i did it at the same time as a top end, so that would have helped too, but it was a fairly big gain. not huge, but definitly noticeable, i think more of a difference than going from 0 to +4 degrees timing.

the gains were most noticeable in the low end, but it did gain everywhere.

for what will cost about 50 bucks including the price of a gasket its good bang for the buck.

i wouldnt go more than .020 if youre not getting it rechambered. my squish is around .035 with .020 taken off, and from what i understand that is on the tight side....

and for the guy that suggested that he bore it, its a waste of cylinders to bore tham for power. from what ive read the power increase is barely noticable, and then you dont have mush sleeve left if it needs a bore someday. im also pretty sure he doesnt want to tear into the bottom end right now, or send the cylinders off to get ported
