You can go .100 over. Why do you want to bore it? You should only go as far over as needed. It doesnt produce noticable power gains.

I was thinking of a bigger bore and some reeds for now.I am new too the banshee and dont have a lot of cash and i can do alot of the work my self.A buddy of mine has a grizzly 660 with a big bore and a cam and he eats my shee?

might not hurt to freshen her up a bit with a fresh bore and a new set of pistons. But you should maybe look into a set of pipes or something along those lines. If your good with a dremel or 1/4 shank rotary and you have a basic idea of how air moves then you could try porting....It's free when you do it yourself!

something like this....

Be CAREFUL doing this. you can wreck your motor quick if you do it wrong. take your time. Make the holes match no matter what else you do.... MAKE'm MATCH!!!

FREE HP IS GOOD!!! With a set of pipes, carbs, and this porting (also did the rest of the ports) I made 52hp on a chassis dyno. People called me out on it but I have the numbers. You can get alot more out of these stock jugs with a little time on your hands.

you need pipes its a whole new bike with pipes. you should just go and bore a 2 stroke out to the max and call her good. if you blow it up then you just screwed a set of cylinders. and its either time for a resleve or some new cylinders. a set of pipes and rejet and you will spank that grizz. stock pipes are the most ussless no good POS there is. trust us on this one and get some pipes. 4 strokes tipicaly last alot longer thats why people bore them out. with a two stroke its kinda pointless you dont gain much more power and if you clog a jet or something and it runs lean your @#$%ed. you just blew her up. just like above said more air in more air out. if you try and port it yoursef your going to be putting moreair in but still useing stock pipes so your not getting any more air out then before. might even make your motor run worse. pipes, reeds, rejet and its a whole different bike. not many bikes can keep up with a good tuned piped banshee.

As said before.... Do not Bore those cylinders out more than you need to in order to get where your compressions needs to be. You should check your compression before anything else. anthing right around 100 or less means you should get it bored out but only go as much as you need to. If you just bore it out as big as you can and you lose a top end you are screwed. Boring it will not get you the power gains you are looking for. You need to do pipes first then supporitng mods. Even if you bored the cylinders to .1 a piped bike with stock bore cylinders would kill you guarenteed. I would hate to see you bore those cylnders and then have to buy new ones when you lose a top end if you bore it just a .20 or as little as you need to then you can bore it multiple times for new top ends when needed. Sorry for the long winded response but just trying to make sure you realize that boring will not get a noticeable power gain. Others will chime in

LIke everyone is saying, DO NOT just go boring a 2 stroke for any reason other then to freshen up the cylinder to run new piston and rings.

Your best bet is to look for some decent used pipes here or on ebay or something (more then likely find the better deals here) for something like 150-300 dollars and then rejet. If you want to bring it to an extreme spend another 300-400 one some porting and a fresh top end and he will see nothing but roost on that grizzly.

You may want to ride it the way it is now if you have less then a year riding a sport bike or atleast do the pipes and leave it at that for a while so you don't hurt yourself. It will be a beast like you won't believe over stock with porting if it is tuned right.

I thank you all for your advice.I know now that boring a 2 stroke does not make hp...air,in and air,out...so i am going with k&n's and pipes and see how that is for me...And yes i am new too the banshee i have had it out 3 times now and it is winter so maybe it will be a different bike come summer?.....dont want too hurt myself.....wife would shit if i couldnt work...lol
