tgbanshee Posted January 20, 2008 Report Posted January 20, 2008 I picked up one of the Jeff's F.A.S.T. clutch setups and was just wondering if it matters which side the friction or steels face or if you can throw it in there any old way (obviously stacking them according to Clymers). Also, this was asked before but no reply was made, are the red marks on the outside of the friction discs of any significance? Quote
Dave I. Posted January 21, 2008 Report Posted January 21, 2008 When I put mine in this is what I was told......the steels have a sharp edge and a dull edge. Doesnt matter which way you start them but make sure they all face the same direction......all sharp or all dull. You also wont turn the steels like it shows in the clymer with the arrow offset or whatever it was. Cant remember now. Fibers dont matter either, just put them in. You wont use the little round rubber cushions either... make sense? Dave Quote
tgbanshee Posted January 21, 2008 Author Report Posted January 21, 2008 Sounds good. I just wasn't sure if there was anything odd I had to do since it's an aftermarket clutch. The red painted marks also made me wonder since there is one on a single tooth of every fiber disc and I thought maybe they had to be lined up or something. Quote
dajogejr Posted January 21, 2008 Report Posted January 21, 2008 Interesting.... I never paid attention to the sharp/dull....and it's lasted 3 years of abuse, still looks pretty good too. Quote

Dave I. Posted January 21, 2008 Report Posted January 21, 2008 The sharp/dull thing was what Jeff told me when I got mine. But that has been about a year ago. I guess any way you look at it they hold up well. 1-3 years between 3 people here. Quote
