Where are you getting this "automotive ball joint" crap at? Call Tim at Wicked and ask. They use the same ball joints you get with Laeger. They're not the Autozone ball joints your talking about where you have to ream the spindle.

They are made by TRW and Federal Mogul. I think the specific application is for some type of Volkswagon steering tie rod. If you don't believe me, loof up the part number yourself. Either your fooling yourself or someone is lying to you if you think these parts are not what is sold at Auto Zone. There are a few Laeger arms designs out there that use a press-style joints though............

I'll check into that in about 3 or 4 years when they're finally worn out. Maybe save the $400 to pay the difference for the big name a-arms. Stick with your heims, cheif. They're probably fine for a big sand box. I'll keep on MXing with the automotive style. Unto each his own...

The ball joints are made by FRAP. They were probably intended for the automotive industry, I bet you will find it was for a spindle type application. I can't read Italian otherwise i could tell you.

Wait let me revise that slightly'

The ball joints that were originally used that required reaming were for a tierod applications, there is flaws in that design if they are used for a spindle type application.

The new ball joints quality a-arm manufactures are using are made by FRAP. They were probably intended for the automotive industry, I bet you will find it was for a spindle type application. I can't read Italian otherwise I could tell you

I don't think Fireheads comments were a argument heims vs. balljoints, I think it was a heims vs. tierod end balljoints, am I right?

That is correct. If I we're to rate the joints in order of sound design per this application;

1.)Pressed in ball joints.

2.)Heim Joints

3.)Poor quality heim joints.

4.) Automotive tie rod ends.
