dragbanshee Posted January 14, 2008 Report Posted January 14, 2008 Anyone else with the 30mm oko carbs have problems keeping the throttle cable in the keeper in the slides, I just installed the carbs, got it all together and checked the throttle over&over to make sure it was ok before starting and was fine, I just didnt think it looked like a good design unless something was missing that I didnt know about. Well anyways I pulled the chokes 2 kicks & fired up, shut the chokes down and went to give throttle and nothing, the cables come out of the keepers on the slides. Just doesnt seem right, am I missing something here? I checked the break down on carbs everything is there. Is there any tricks to it. Thanks for any help guys. Quote

Sounds like too much slack in the cable. I cant quite remember how they go together on the OKO's but thats what its sounds like. Quote
akita8 Posted January 14, 2008 Report Posted January 14, 2008 A buddy of mine has them and you need to make sure the cable is all the way in the slot and then make sure the cable keeper slides on top of the cable. We had to take a little screwdriver and push the cable in the slot. Good luck Quote

Good luck You lost me on "make sure cablekeeper slides on top of the cable" , might be a dumb question but do Ineed to pull slide out to put cable in keeper as one unit? Thanks Quote
akita8 Posted January 15, 2008 Report Posted January 15, 2008 If the cable is coming out of the slide you have to take the 2 screws out of the top of the carb and remove the slide to put the cable back in. To put the cable back in the slide you need to compress the spring around the cable with the little keeper that holds the cable in the slot. Then slip the cable into the slot in the slide and make sure its all the way in and then slide the keeper down the cable towards the slide and line the keeper up with the cable slot in the slide. If you meant that the adjuster is coming loose on top of the carb then that thats a different story Quote
