sheerocks Posted January 4, 2008 Report Posted January 4, 2008 I just got a set of vf3 reeds I bought off the net. They look real good except for one thing. I dont have a pic so i will try to describe the problem. Anyone who has had a set of these in their hand should know what Im talking about. If you lay them flat like on a table you are looking at the point where the two reeds meet. At the bottom of the reeds there is a thin plastic bar that goes over the reeds. The problem is one of the bars is missing. It wasnt in the package and looks like it was actually part of the flange. Are these usable like this or are they junk? Thanks for the help/ Quote

Thanks for the help/ is it the part that the red arrow points 2? it goes threw the length of the reeds holding them in place. the only way to replace the plastic piece that holds the reeds in place is to get a new set of reed pedals (they also replace that piece) or send me a PM with your address cuz i just got 2 new sets so i have that extra part. sheerocks Posted January 4, 2008 Author Report Posted January 4, 2008 I guess my upload didnt work. If you look at your pic. Straight above your arrow point is the mounting holes where they bolt to the jug. The black bar runs from side to side. Its right above your arrow. Quote
xXBlessedWithDeathXx Posted January 5, 2008 Report Posted January 5, 2008 Is it the part that i have circled? Quote
theshee Posted January 5, 2008 Report Posted January 5, 2008 I think he means where i put the green arrow. Quote
xXBlessedWithDeathXx Posted January 5, 2008 Report Posted January 5, 2008 I think he means where i put the green arrow. if thats the case i would have to say your screwed. the reeds come apart in 8 parts counting the pedals. that part holds your outer reeds in. i never seen that part for sale but if you call V-force you may have a chance. thats what i would do. sheerocks Posted January 6, 2008 Author Report Posted January 6, 2008 I contacted the guy. He says they looked fine when removed and he never noticed it. Also says it ran fine. Is it possible he used them like this? I popped the reeds out and its actually part of the mounting flange where it bolts on the jug. Quote
