well after getting my topend rebuilt, my stator took a dump, they my key switch, so about after 2 months of troubleshooting and re wiring, i finally got spark tonight but it still refuses to fire off, any suggestions

that seems to be what im having trouble with i have spark but it doesnt wqanna kick over...im sure someone will chime in here soon :)

what did you gap your pick up at? if too much that will cause erratic and weak spark.

 

 

.015 is what its set at now, its a brand new ricky stator

????????????????????? someone has had to have had this problem before

you might of flooded the engine, try to pull it off, put it in 2nd or 3ed get it rolling and ease off the clutch and let it spin over.

pulled it around the block twice with the truck, cranked right up, spittered and sputtered for about 10 min till it warmed up( takes a while in 14 degree weather) then she ran like a champ thanks for the help

Since you said you have 14 degree weather...what pilot jet do you have in it? With that cold of temps if you have a stock pilot i could see it not starting very easily.

stock jetting right now i was about to ask someone about that, i have k&n clamp ons and stock pipes so how should i i set the jetting up, i live in alaska so temp is between 30 and - 40 in the winter ansd its gets in the high 70s in the summer
