im having trouble timing my shee. i just put a new stator and adjustable timing plate on. i set the plate to zero and ressembled. does it matter what position the flywheel is in, because i rotated the engine a few times before installing the flywheel? i looked in the service manual and it doesnt tell you shit about it so. im getting plenty of fuel and spark but it wont start???

There is a key and spline on the end of the crankshaft...and a spline or channel on the flywheel.

There is only one correct way to put it on.

If this isn't installed properly, the bike will hardly run, if at all...

Get a clymers manual, the factory manual sucks for this kind of thing.

yea that flywheel will only go on one way. it has a woodruff key(halfmoon), also check the pickup coil, it should be about .020 between it and the tabs on the flywheel(the 2 rasied spots on the outside of the flywheel) line the flywheel tab up with the pickup, and loosen the pickup screw to adjust it. if it is too far away it will not run right or at all..

also if its a ricky stator do not be surprised if it is bad.. i have a buddy that bought a new ricky stator assembly with timing plate, they obviously didn't tighten the 3 bolts that hold the stator to the timing plate and it came loose, the flywheel tore one of the coils up on the stator, he sent it back(it was brand new) with the receipt and told them what happened, THEY WOULD NOT REPLACE IT, they said it looked like it was purposely tore up, wtf?? i will never buy anything from them.. and there stators are junk.. thats the 3rd one i have seen and all 3 were pieces of chit!.

The stators from RM and Ricky Stator look IDENTICAL....and are priced the same, too.

I'm on my second. First one died less than a year, the replacement has last me all season...but, I keep a spare in the box just in case!!!

Glad you're set...

rm is a distributor for Ricky.

Were are you lining up your timing marks at? On a rs plate it is supposed to be zero mark even with the case halves on the right side as you sit to the side of the bike and look at it.

I have a 200WATT RS in my shee. 1st one cut out at high RPM right out of the box at the dez. 2nd one works perfect and I love it.
