Here is what I did, and highly recommend for anyone in the market for a new front end...

 

On ebay Burgard sells under the account name "quadparts"....they sell silver vein coated arms with chrome tie rods for around $220-250 a set. they sell them as used or blem sets but they are brand new. I could not find any blems in the powder coat on the set I bought. they are camber adjustable and really nice arms. If you go this route you can get the standard Elka play shocks for $440 direct from Elka and have a kick ass front end for under $700!

My bike IMO rides much better than my friends bike with Lonestar arms and Works shocks

Yoo chozen one thats pretty cheap..Do you have any pics of your set-up would love to see it..

I have the ASR as well with works g-series shocks....

Mike at ASR is a great guy, Im still working on getting mine setup right, Ill get it some day...

when I turn all the way either way the inside of the rim hits the a-arms

There are a lot of a-arms out there for a lot less money and a way better reputation to back them up. There are quicksand, wicked, LSR, Laeger, Jensen*, and sometimes even roll design a-arms for that kinda money and in my opinion i wouldn't go with ASR, Burgard, HDUSA, or Magnum a-arms. To each his own though some people will fight to the death that ASR is good but iv herd bad things about them breaking as have i herd the same about earlier HDUSA a-arms but i believe they fixed it. Personally the way i see it its your life just decide how much thats worth to you. I like having fun i dont wanna be a veggie that sits on a couch watching porn bc i was to dumb to spend the little bit of extra cash. those of you that have ASR go ahead and call bullshit its just my oppinion take it for that and nothing more.

actually ive heard alot of bad reviews from people with asr a arms thats why i didnt want them but ive also heard alot of good things about them

i guess i still have no idea what front end setup to get

If you were prepared to drop 600 you should get the Lonestar Racing A-Arms I payed around 650.00 for mine. Fully adjustable, upper heims lower intergrated skidplate 100% Chromoly. At least that way you will feel comfterble with your purchase. The worst thing you can do is what your doing now. Rushing your decision. Caster and Camber are really nice to have espically on the Banshee. Factory set isent that great when you can EASELY adjust your own. Then if your getting to much bump and corner roll you can adjust them again till you have the perfect front end setup. camber is up and down castor is side to side and they are easy to adjust.

 

Take Housers Tric Trak a-arms that adjust themselves on the fly setup and it will give you an idea on adjusting your own caster and camber. They dont make them for the banshee and they still dont have anything protecting the setup yes but they are sick.

Then drop a few more hundred and get Elkas with Comp adjustments and you wil have one of the nicest setups out there. I got the Elites with HI And lowspeed +rebound adjustments so itts almost like having 2 sets of shocks in one. You can adjust the hi speeed compression then theres a knob for adjusting the low speed compression at the same time. I dont recomend buying them unless you really fell like you would benifit from all of those adjustments but it sure is nice.

I don't have any pics Wacko but should be able to get some next week....I left my bike at a friends house in AZ....

 

As far as customer service goes I have nothing but good things to say about burgard. I ordered my arms a year before I mounted them up and found that they had sent me the wrong tie rods by mistake (too long) I tryed to make them work by cutting them down and tapping them but the ball joints bottomed out and I still couldn't get the toe out far enough....I called up Burgard and got Izzy on the phone and he sent me out new ones right away without having to give him the ebay auction number or anything...top notch in my book. But I might have just got lucky.

 

I really like the G-Series shocks, they look badass and Im sure they perform....good looking bike Wacko

 

I'm just a duner, not a hardcore racer so I'm pretty easy to satisfy. Going from riding on a stock front end for 4 years to the burgards & Elkas was a wet dream....I couldn't see gaining anything from a more exspensive set up with the way I ride.

Nobody makes a set of bullet-proof a-arms. Anyone that tries to say different is full of shit. I've seen Roll a-arms snap in half in person, LSR a-arm that were broken, ASR heims that fell apart sitting still (and ASR arms that broke, seen that happen a couple of times).

 

Customer service is one of the bigger things. Jensen (janssen, whatever his name is) has had some BAD problems with customer service in the past. So has ASR.

 

Personally the thing I look at in a-arms in the tube the shock mounts on. If the a-arm has a single tube that the shock mounts to with no bracing, I don't want it. The arm is relying on only 2 welds, and both of those are holding weight in a shearing manner. And, there isn't any temper left in the steel where the weld is.

 

Pretty much all of those affordable a-arms fall into that category. Im not saying they are junk, Im not saying they aren't good quality. Im just not going to trust them with my life when Im landing from 20' in the air. I've wrecked from that height once, not doing it again.

 

LSR, some of the ASR arms use a flat piece of steel under that tube, which helps. The hydrodynamics arms use good braces. If I remember right so does Laeger and Roll. The HD arms also use Laeger style ball joints (I wouldn't buy a set of ball joint arms if they use any other ball joints). Epic (Alba a-arms)makes/made some good a-arms too, though they seem to be hard to find (Laeger ball joints too).

 

As far as heims, depends on your riding. I won't ever have them here because Ive seen what our mud/clay mix does to them after a couple seasons (yes even the good heims). Which leaves the Laeger ball jointed arms. Most people in other areas of the country don't seem to have any problems with heims though.

thats pretty dam good that he sent wacko a brand new arm no questions asked even after he admitted he flipped it.. thats good customer service

Unless they've changed stuff around in the past couple years, don't count on it. I know a person first hand that had a weld crack on the shock mount (fall off is more like it). ASR told him too bad. Wouldn't even look at it.
