kodie Posted December 6, 2007 Report Posted December 6, 2007 im having trouble loosening my chain. i got bot of the 2 big bolts loosened now what do i do with the 2 adjusters at the back Quote
Dave I. Posted December 6, 2007 Report Posted December 6, 2007 loosen the lock nut, then loosen the adjusters, rotate carrier to give chain slack... Quote
kodie Posted December 6, 2007 Author Report Posted December 6, 2007 the carrier only moves a little bit but not enough for what i need. this is a brand new chain do you think i got a chain too short? its only 1-2 links too short. Quote
Dave I. Posted December 6, 2007 Report Posted December 6, 2007 look at the side of the swing arm where the big bolt on the bottom goes through...that is where the carrier rotates..see how much adjustment you have left...its a radial slot cut in the swing arm.......2 links is a lot to be short... kodie Posted December 6, 2007 Author Report Posted December 6, 2007 there is a decent amount of room left for it to rotate but it wont go any further by hand. do i hit it with a hammer and a block of wood? or what Quote
2strokespirit Posted December 6, 2007 Report Posted December 6, 2007 You have to loosen 2 nuts, plus the adjuster nuts, turn the adjuster bolts out and then it should move easy. Quote
tedd1 Posted December 7, 2007 Report Posted December 7, 2007 If you got everything loose, check your sprocket and brake rotor. The skid plate is probably bashed in and not letting the carrier swing all the way forward. Quote
