hey i bought the dial a jet system but havnt installed it yet because im considering returning it for a few reasons: changing main jets isn't that hard. I have the stock carbs and when its at idle or turned off and I leave the fuel on, fuel drips out the drain tubes on the bottom of the float bowls. Ive tapped on them and that doesnt solve the problem. I had this problem many times with my blaster and the dealership just rips you off so im fine with turning the fuel line off whenever its not running, but wouldn't it affect how the dial a jet system works since the thing runs off pressure? I havnt tried cleaning the drain screw on the bottom of the float bowl or tightening it or cleaning the pilot jets, even tho i just installed brand new 27.5's, maybe that will work. Basically i havnt screwed around with any of that yet. but for the dial a jet system im supposed to replace that drain screw with the dial a jet spigot, so wouldnt fuel still drip out the tubes on the bottom of the bowls or am i supposed to plug those holes? (the instructions were kind of unclear there) any help or advice would be greatly appreciated... i also have K&N filters and it seems like they would barely slide over the carb because of the dial a jet system that i tap and install. thats giving me another reason to return the kit, unless theres plenty of room for the K&N filters to be fitted on the carbs with the dial a jet system installed. just for the hell of it my mods are pro circuit pipes, vforce3 reeds, K&N filters, no airbox or lid, dynojet needle and im about to install a noss coolhead with 20cc domes. thanx

I am not sure how you are installing but if you are requested to use the overflow tube on the bottom and eliminate the overflow tube in the bowl, don't do it. This can cause fuel to fill up the crank case of the carbs overflow. You need an overflow. We always tap the bowl with an insert and leave the stock stuff alone.

ok but what about the fuel coming out the overflow tubes? will that affect the way the dial a jet system works? and what about the K&N filters? will there be enough room?

sounds like the floats are not set right if you have fuel coming out of the over flow.

Dave had power jets installed in his gas carbs when he had his cub last year. Bike seemed to run great. He just jetted it perfect. Installed the power jets, dropped the mains a couple and richened it back up with the power jet. It was nice because when the temp changed all he had to do was screw the power jet in or out to compensate!

I've been PMing back and forth with him. It's not the overflow tubes he's dripping fuel out of.

It's the drain line on the bottom of the carb.

I told him if his daily riding doesn't involve very big changes in elevation or temperature changes, send 'em back.

Us Alky guys must have power jets to enrichen the mid and big end for big motors, that need lots of fuel.

I like the idea of a dial a jet for a gas bike, but if your riding area/locale/temp/altitude doesn't change a lot, probably not worth it.

I had my 35's setup on powerjets last year on my gas bike because I had every intention of converting it to alky...but I pretty much sold the whole bike and went in another direction for this year. It was nice...though..:)
