flotek Posted December 8, 2007 Report Posted December 8, 2007 PJs are shit man, IMO - Sorry i just had terrible luck with mine. I shortly switched for pwks and love them. They are just a cheap carb, and are really touchy. But yes, WES will stear you in the direction. He got mine runnin close but they just wouldnt ever work right. I agree ,and alot of people say" PJ" stands for ....Piece of Junk Quote
wesw Posted December 8, 2007 Report Posted December 8, 2007 give me 2 hrs and if you were near ks i could have that bike tunes and jetted pretty close with them pjs. Quote
Bansh-eman Posted December 8, 2007 Report Posted December 8, 2007 i also had PJ's and sold them shirtly after and got PWK's. Wesw and Kevin Herr are the only two guys I know that like thier PJ's. everyone else hated them Quote
Swaie Posted December 9, 2007 Author Report Posted December 9, 2007 I bought these pj's off of ebay for 80.00 bucks. If now one likes the pj's what do you all run. I hope these work good with my setup, butt if they don't what should I switch too. Also I know nothing about jetting. The mechanic at the local four wheller shop is going to jet for me. I have been seaching though the fourms and reading everything here but still not comfortable enough to do it myself. How will I know itf it is jetted correctly or not. Also were do i get parts for these carbs like different sized jets and slides? Quote
wesw Posted December 9, 2007 Report Posted December 9, 2007 you should ask the guy who ported your stuff what the motor likes, or find someone running the same porting. rough guess 48-55 pilot, good needle cel, dek range, 150-155 mains probably. you will need a carb sync tool to get them to idle smoothly. usually 8.5 full turns out on the idle knobs. If you run the set up I listed above it will likely be within 2 jet sizes depending on your elevation, and you probably won't change a thing. You will want to do a plug reading when jetting any carb. I personally run the pj's on my drag port 364cc banshee and get well into the 80's on HP. Nothing to be ashamed of except they look old school. Quote
Swaie Posted December 10, 2007 Author Report Posted December 10, 2007 Thanks for all the input. You guys are really helpful. Quote
