kawiking Posted November 19, 2007 Report Posted November 19, 2007 i bought a k&t head from a friend 6 months ago and he gave me a set of domes with it. he said he thought they were 18-4-mill domes. well i have a set of reg 18 and i can tell they were diffrent, i was thinking about selling the other 18's but didnt want to sell them till i know whats up with them. ? is ,is there a diffrence in 18 4- mill dome for a cub motor and a stock cyln 4 mill ?? badassbanshee479 Posted November 19, 2007 Report Posted November 19, 2007 the cub domes are probably cut for the big bore, the oring groove will be moved to out more than the regular domes. Also, alky domes are cut different than regular domes. Quote

brian Posted November 20, 2007 Report Posted November 20, 2007 you should be able to tell the diff. just by looking at them yourself. if they were cut for a 4mil it should be noticeable. if you look at the shoulder right next to the o-ring groove the 4 mil cut domes should be about .080 deeper cut there. (right where the slope starts down toward the center) Like mentioned above, it is possible that the o-ring grooves are different between the two, but that is not always the case. Quote
