jaredvh Posted November 11, 2007 Report Posted November 11, 2007 I have an oil leak from my transmission. I think it is coming out of the seal around where the shift lever goes in. Is this possible to leak from there? Where else might it be leaking from? Also, Is it possible for oil from the transmission to get into the combustion chambers?? Any help is GREATLY appreciated!! Bansh-eman Posted November 11, 2007 Report Posted November 11, 2007 (edited) any where there is a seal or gasket you run the potenatial chance of a leak. you can burn tranny fluid if your crank seal is bad. is it that your losing tranny fluid but you dont have anything dripping? if so your probly looking at a bad crank seal. if you have oil dripping then you got a leak else where. NYUK Posted November 11, 2007 Report Posted November 11, 2007 the shifter seal is an obvious spot for it to leak and common.easily fixed without taking the motor apart. Quote

I think I have a bad crank seal as well, I know it is leaking oil from the shifter though. What's involved in changing this seal around the shifter? Quote
Bansh-eman Posted November 13, 2007 Report Posted November 13, 2007 pop it out pop a new one in. if you dont want to drain the oil tip it up on its side a little. Quote
