Bansh-eman Posted November 11, 2007 Report Posted November 11, 2007 i personally never have but as long as you get a good seal on all the point where metal mets you will be fine. also put some hi temp rtv with it to be safe. Quote
dajogejr Posted November 11, 2007 Report Posted November 11, 2007 As long as that gasket material is oil/grease proof, I don't see why not... Quote

Why not just use Yamabond? Quote
nunyabinness Posted November 11, 2007 Author Report Posted November 11, 2007 Why not just use Yamabond? i never thought of that. will that really work? or are you being sarcastic? also that brings up another question. i know some people use threebond (instead of yamabond). but i couldn't remember what stuff it was. well the stuff i got was threebond 1104 (for sealing my cases back together, that's what they gave me at the motorcycle shop) will that work or do i need to take them apart again and use something else. also will that work for my clutch cover? thank you to all three of you (Bansh-eman, dajogejr, FireHead) for your responses. i'm just trying to finally get this thing together so i can finally start it up. ClimbAnyHill Posted November 11, 2007 Report Posted November 11, 2007 A friend made himself 3 gaskets from a roll. Same material as K&S. Used the old one to trace the pattern, cut it size with an Exacto blade. Worked fine!! Quote
dajogejr Posted November 12, 2007 Report Posted November 12, 2007 Threebond 1104 is the same as yama or honda bond. use it for the case halfs. Please don't use it for the clutch cover.... Gasket and any RTV.... Quote

Gasket and any RTV.... I really don't see a porblem using it on your clutch cover as long as the sealing surfaces are in good shape and are clean. Some asshole keeps doing it to my engines and I have a had 0 problems with it. Quote
