RIPRuck Posted November 5, 2007 Report Posted November 5, 2007 Guys I am about to go through the roof right now.. Had the cylinders ported and been sitting around in the box waiting for the installation. I checked one jug when I first received them and was happy with the work but never checked the other one till now when I was getting them ready for paint. had plans to put the motor together this week and I'm totally fucken bummed out right now. I'm running a cool head and not sure if it will get a good enough seal. Is there anything that can be done to fix them? The nick in the base doesnt seem like it will effect the seal but I'm mainly worried about the top of the left cylinder sealing. Here's some pics of the two cylinders! The marks are on the left and right tops, and the left base. :shoothead: Quote
NYUK Posted November 5, 2007 Report Posted November 5, 2007 when you tighten them down, dab a lil high heat gasket sealer in that spot. i nicked the top of my cheetas there and it didn t leak, it`s on the outside of the o ring. i think it will be fine. if you are skeered you can always have them decked and the domes cut to compensate. RIPRuck Posted November 5, 2007 Author Report Posted November 5, 2007 I'm using three bond 1211 to seal the cases, would I use the same thing or just grab some permatex? Quote
jbooker82 Posted November 5, 2007 Report Posted November 5, 2007 Just use the same thing as on the cases. I would just use a file to knock the high spots down on the top of the cylinder. Quote

RIPRuck Posted November 5, 2007 Author Report Posted November 5, 2007 Thanks again guys.. I'll use the 1211 on those areas before torqueing them down. Fingers crossed! Quote
