so far i have about 2 hours on a complete engine rebuilt, i parked it in the garage a couple nights ago and when i came out to the garage i noticed it leaking coolant,, noticed it was coming from the hose joint that goes into the clutch from the head. so i took off the side case to replace with a new o-ring,, i thought i was done after that but i noticed the right side crank seal was half way pushed out (one side still in and the other side was pushed out) it was pushed out just enough for the gears to take a little piece off of it, do i need to split the cases to replace it? and what would have caused this? bad mechanic maybe? so far it wouldn't surprise me!! like i said everything was just replaced! 2 hours of ride time,, all i know is for this being my first shee it's done nothing but cost me money! not a very good 1st impression, but i have wanted one ever since the first time i heard my 1st shee! lol please give me some good news! thanks again guys! you haven't let me down yet!

Yes, you have to split the cases. Go ahead and replace both seals while you're in there. I think my right side seal is bad, too; my tranny oil level keeps slowly dropping....and I just split my cases and put in new seals when I installed my override.

yes you have to split the cases to change the seal. but it is not that hard to do. i just did it for the first time a couple weeks ago. like i said it was simple.

I replaced my crank seal with out splitting the case. I have done that with my old setup and my new setup.
