Bansh-eman Posted October 31, 2007 Report Posted October 31, 2007 it can make them rust, if you get it on there make sure you clean it off asap. and when your done wash the jugs down and oil them up with some premix. Quote

Bansh-eman Posted October 31, 2007 Report Posted October 31, 2007 yea, but you dont have to soak them down,, just get a nice coat all over the place. Quote
smokin 2 stroke Posted October 31, 2007 Author Report Posted October 31, 2007 ok im going to powder coating them this weekend so strip em clean them powder coat them and lube them and put back on the bike Quote
Bansh-eman Posted October 31, 2007 Report Posted October 31, 2007 well if your going to powder coat them thne you dont need to oil them up. (Assuming your going to PC right away) You will need to strip them down to PC them too. If you have a way to use a snad blaster this would be your best bet to remove the paint. But im sure theres a better way to prep the metal... this is more of a question suited for Kaotik1 i didnt realize you wanted to PC them. Are you PCing them your self or having them done? Quote
xXBlessedWithDeathXx Posted October 31, 2007 Report Posted October 31, 2007 I used airplane stripper and i had no problems no rust but i did clean them good. Quote
DSSA Posted October 31, 2007 Report Posted October 31, 2007 I used airplane stripper and i had no problems no rust but i did clean them good. Why not just let the powdercoating guy deal with stripping them? It takes me about 30 minutes to prep two cylinders to have them ready to out gas, then powdercoat. That way there's less down-time---and chance for rust. Quote
smokin 2 stroke Posted October 31, 2007 Author Report Posted October 31, 2007 i do my own powder coating i do little stuff but i thinki should have them domw this weekend Quote
