Hey guys, Im in the middle of complete rebuild, just waiting on my wiseco's to come. I was going to put an adjustable timing plate and lightened flywheel on and was just wondering am i going to feel much of a difference with these? I dont really understand the electrics so dont really know what to expect. Like from searching I see people having +4 timing and +6 timing. How do you know what to set it at?? This is prob a dumb question but I may as well ask to get educated when im at it.

My mods are dmc alien pipes, 240 mains, k&N with modified lid.

Thanks Gerard

the more advanced you set it at the more bottom end you will gain at the sacirifce of topend. +4 is the most common. keep in mind if you bump it up a ton depending on your compression you could detonate if your running cheap gas...

increasing the timing will increase the low end power. You decide on how much advance to give it but what type of fuel you are going to run, and what octane it is. Just remember, the more timing you give it, the easier it is for it to detonate and blow up. Most guys with pump gas motors are safe with +4. if ya go to race gas you can push it to say +7 and if ya decide to go alky, I have seen it over +11

Also remember, the more timing you give it, the more bottom end power you will have, but at the sacrifice of some top end.

Fantastic help guys. Anyone know where I can get a lightened flywheel? Are they a good mod? I was hoping ebay had some but there is none. We cant get them in Ireland at all. Banshee mods are so rare over here. People just normally put pipes on and that is it!!! I guess we are missing out on loads of power!

pretty much any builder can do it for you... I'm not a fan of them however. I have seen a few of them come apart and destroy your stator. Also if your a big guy or if you ride with alot of tight corners, then this isnt your mod. They wil spin up much faster and get into the rpm's but they also fall off faster.

Ah thats excellent info. Thanks bansheman! I wasnt sure if it was the correct mod for me or not. Ill try and save for a port job instead. Thanks again.
