jb35 Posted October 14, 2007 Report Posted October 14, 2007 This is my first banshee also my first two-stroke. Lately I have been having trouble getting it to kick over. Put new plugs in it this morning and I know it is getting spark. Not really sure kow to check compression but you can feel are coming out of the head with the plugs out. Any ideas Quote

jb35 Posted October 14, 2007 Author Report Posted October 14, 2007 check it with a compression tester. you can't check compression by feel. if the compression is low how do you fix it and i guess you can get a tester at autozone or something Quote
dekker Posted October 14, 2007 Report Posted October 14, 2007 You can get a compression tester at any auto store. I would also take the carbs apart and clean them out really good. Any small pieces of sand can clog one of the small holes that fuel flows through. Take some compressed air to it and see if that helps. If you do have low compression 100 or lower you will be in need of a new top end. Time to bore it out and put some new pistons and rings in it. Others will help you out as well. Zach Quote

jb35 Posted October 14, 2007 Author Report Posted October 14, 2007 ia ma assuming the compression is low. if the bike is in gear you can kick it once and barely tell its in gear, second and third kick you can feel the compression build Quote
