2strokespirit Posted October 12, 2007 Report Posted October 12, 2007 I recently measured the calipers and discs of the yfz450 and saw that the front hubs and discs are the same except for the spindles which are from aliminium, the calipers mounting bolt gaps are the same, has anyone fit yfz calipers on the banshee spindles. The Yfzs has excellent front brakes and thought I'm gonne give it a go. Thanks Quote
BenBB Posted October 12, 2007 Report Posted October 12, 2007 Yes the calipers are a direct bolt-on: same bolt pattern, bolt size, etc. and twice the calipers, well worth upgrading. Be advised that you need to use the Banshee bolts and not the YFZ450 bolts, since the YFZ spindle is aluminum and thicker at the threads they use longer bolts for the caliper, if you use those on a Banshee spindle the ends of the bolts might bottom out against the rotor. Also while the hubs look identical, they aren't and won't interchange, you hafta use YFZ hubs with YFZ spindles and Banshee hubs with Banshee spindles. Quote
jedsled Posted October 14, 2007 Report Posted October 14, 2007 just to confirm, the calipers are a direct swap to use w/ banshee discs. spindles, hubs? no mods are needed? Quote
