FredMW Posted October 4, 2007 Report Posted October 4, 2007 Did you change something on the bike? What makes you think you need to rejet? Quote
sredish Posted October 4, 2007 Report Posted October 4, 2007 you probably need to go up on the mains as 270s are what came with the pipe and they are intended for a stock bike with an airbox. your running k&N pods which'll need more fuel so if you stay with the pods, I'd say go to a 300 and see how it performs there, if you go to the stock airbox, then try a 290. Also, I'll add that very rarely do the "supplied" jets work perfectly, they're a "guesstimate" for trial purposes mostly. With fatties and mods similar, my bike used a 310 with an airbox. So, I'd try a 290 or 300 and see how it reacts. Quote

Thanks you guys for the replys and good direction.I added the top notch cool head with 20 size domes and the boost bottle along with adding boyseen pro reeds to the stock cages. Then i'm adding the stock air box with a aftermarket filter. These are the mods I have done to give her a little make over.I was also wondering if I need to change the pilot to 27.5 like I have seen in some other post. sredish Posted October 5, 2007 Report Posted October 5, 2007 the pilot jet is your call. is it starting fine or is it taking a few extra kicks? If its starting fine, then no worries. Quote
SGMNICK91 Posted October 5, 2007 Author Report Posted October 5, 2007 It use to start up perfect until last october at dumont. I had just left camp and one of the slides got stuck wide open towed it back gave the carbs a nice cleaning and now it's a bitch sometimes to start..I might not have them sync together enough..I basically look through the window in the sides of the carbs and got the holes in the window matched up.If you have any sync ideas that would be great. You gave people 24 hours to respond...no one here is on call, some people actually have to work, too.... There are plenty here to help...just have to be patient a little bit.... 270 with pods is way too lean...you're gonna pop that motor as said. If you plan on running the air box with no lid, 280 to 290... If you're gonna run a lid, I bet it'd be fine with 270 in there.... With that much desert riding, be sure to get an outerwear to filter some of the dirt/dust you're gonna encounter, they do keep your filters cleaner longer. Jeff @ FAST sells a tool called a sycrometer. You'll probably have to remove the airbox to sync the carbs, but it will get your sync spot on.... http://www.farmandsandtoys.com/partdetail.asp?partid=59 Quote
