bansheeman1988 Posted October 1, 2007 Report Posted October 1, 2007 I recently just rebuilt a 2000 banshee and need some help jetting the carbs right with the pro circuit 304 factory sound pipes. The quad has the stock reeds and jets. Guy who owned it before me was a redneck and blew it up cuz he never jetted it right to the pipes and blew a whole thru the piston and oblonged the rod. Ill send pics if you wanna see!! Is there a chart or something that i could compare with those pipes??? What do you recommend?? Im running this wheeler at about 1500ft asl (above sea level) Let me know asap. I am reassembling the quad and would like to know what else i need for parts, thanx!! Quote

Are there any other mods to the engine???? Look at my sig on my '99. I'm running a 310 main with a 27.5 pilot and it rips extremely well. Have the same pipes you do. Quote
slowpokebanshee Posted October 2, 2007 Report Posted October 2, 2007 stock pilots, needle in the middle, and 270-280 mains should do...... Quote
bansheeman1988 Posted October 2, 2007 Author Report Posted October 2, 2007 what's you elevation? Im 1500ft above sea level, i read on a information sheet that i shold go 8 sizes larger on the mains and 2 sizes bigger on the pilot jet. Does this sound correct to anyone?? No there arent any more mods than what i listed other than maybe a no-toil foam air filter and the snorkel removed from the air box, otherwise thats about it! let me know what to do! Quote
slowpokebanshee Posted October 2, 2007 Report Posted October 2, 2007 honestly, I would try stock pilot, stock needle, middle clip, and 260 main do a plug chop and see where your at. Quote
slowpokebanshee Posted October 2, 2007 Report Posted October 2, 2007 sorry, I re-read your post and see you included your elevation earlier.....I still say 260-270 main and do a plug chop.... Quote
bansheeman1988 Posted October 3, 2007 Author Report Posted October 3, 2007 okay i will try swapping a few jets and see how it goes. Let you know what happends. Quote
bansheeman1988 Posted October 15, 2007 Author Report Posted October 15, 2007 (edited) hey guys i recently got my shee running and it kinda runs like shit, idles fine but it bogs off the idle and is hard to wind up. ive been doing a lot of reading on this and lots of people have said that the choke tube that goes between the carbs is a common symptom. And now that i recall it there was no tube between my two carbs, so i am going to try that tonight and see how it works out. If that doesnt work i am thinking of lowering the needles (leaning) one clip. Ill let you know how it goes tonight. hopefully its just the choke tube. stock carbs airbox with no-toil foam filter no snorkel 280 mains stock pilots needles in the middle air screws 2 turns out pro circuit pipes 32:1 mix Edited October 15, 2007 by bansheeman1988 Quote

bansheeman1988 Posted October 16, 2007 Author Report Posted October 16, 2007 I got the banshee running last night and it ran a little better but kept fouling out the left cylinder. I dunno if i am too rich on the mains or what maybe i should try leaning out the needles, but the right cylinder ran perfect??? i dont get it they both have good spark and starts good with the choke out but when i put the choke in it starts to die which means im too lean still....i dont get it tho because the spark plug out of the left cylinder keeps getting wet with fuel and not firing???? WTF IS GOING ON!! im thinking of going thru the carbs again, maybe raise the needles instead of lowering them...let me know what you guys think! Quote
